Striking Coach Martin “Trey” Brown

Martin “Trey” Brown is Gracie Tampa West’s new striking coach. He has been training boxing / kickboxing for over 7 years, and is an extremely good teacher. His classes run Monday – Thursday both in the mornings at 10am, and in the evenings at 8PM. I encourage everyone to come in and try his class. Beginners are welcome, the classes focus on basic footwork and movements first, be prepared for a nice work out.

Fight and Tournament Results!

Dan and Kit both won their fights via unanimous decision. They looked good, had pretty dominate performances. Kit improves now to 4-0, and Dan is now 4-1 as ammys.

I competed at Grapplers Quest over this past weekend while I was in Houston at the UFC expo, and the UFC. I won the Men’s Advanced NO-GI 170-179 class, submitting everyone I rolled. After my division I entered the advanced absolute as well, I submitted a couple of tough guys, I lost my 3rd absolute match via kneebar, I was ahead 5-0, but basically got lazy and he was awesome with the leg locks. it was a fun experience, I am looking forward to the next one!
